TTC buses and bike racks

[Intro music] Taking your bike on the bus is easy. Follow
these simple steps to load your bike onto the bike rack. Before the bus arrives, be sure to remove
these items from your bike. If you can’t remove loose items, you can
take your bike onto the bus at off-peak times. Always load and unload on the curb side of
the street to avoid on-coming traffic. You can lower the bike rack easily by pulling
on the handle and then lifting your bike onto the rack. Bike racks on some TTC buses are restricted
to carry one bicycle only, to ensure continued safety for TTC operators, customers and all
road users. The restricted bike racks are locked and clearly
labelled . All other TTC buses may still carry two bicycles on the bike racks. Next, lift the support arm up and over the
tire to secure your bike to the bus. Make sure to check that it is secure before boarding
the bus. Never use a personal lock or chain to secure
your bike. Remember, you’re responsible for properly
loading and unloading your bike. If possible, it’s a good idea to sit at
the front of the bus to keep an eye on your bike. When leaving the bus, tell the driver that
you’re unloading your bike, and exit from the front door. Remove the bike and then raise the rack to its upright position. And that’s it! Now you’re able to enjoy
the rest of your journey by bike. For more information visit ttc.ca
